Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Testing & Reconciliation Specialist to support the full-time implementation of our new billing system, Zuora. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data migration, billing outputs, and revenue workflows. Beyond the implementation phase, this role will support ongoing revenue operations activities by ensuring data quality, maintaining reconciliation routines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot billing discrepancies, improve reporting accuracy, and uphold compliance and audit standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong audit background from a Big 4 firm, with demonstrated experience in financial system testing, data validation, and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

Testing

  • Execute detailed test cases for all Zuora modules, including product catalog, mediation, billing, and revenue recognition.
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) scripts tailored to business scenarios, as developed by the implementation team.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external consultants to validate system configuration and workflow accuracy.
  • Identify, investigate, and document system defects and anomalies; track issues through to resolution.
  • Assist in performance and volume testing of high-transaction environments.

Reconciliation

  • Lead reconciliation efforts between legacy systems and Zuora, ensuring transactional, invoice, and revenue data integrity.
  • Execute reconciliation strategies for product catalogs, fee schedules, historical transactions, and accounting outputs.
  • Validate that all data transformations and mediation rules are functioning as intended across scenarios.
  • Partner with technology, finance, and audit teams to ensure audit-ready documentation and traceability.

Documentation & Governance

  • Maintain comprehensive test and reconciliation documentation, including test plans, logs, deviation reports, and signoffs.
  • Support creation of internal controls, audit documentation, and risk assessment materials.
  • Contribute to SOX compliance efforts for revenue-related systems and reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA/CA or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a Big 4 audit firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) with a focus on financial systems, controls testing, or technology audit.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles and financial reconciliation best practices.
  • Familiarity with Zuora or other billing platforms is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL, Alteryx, or data validation tools is desirable.
  • Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and detail-focused.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Previous involvement in ERP or billing system transformations.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote or offshore environment.
  • Experience with SOX-compliant environments.
  • Comfortable navigating large data sets and drawing insights from discrepancies.
