Role Description Key Responsibilities: Test Planning & Strategy: Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies that align with project requirements and timelines. Test Case Design: Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases based on requirements and specifications. Test Execution: Execute manual tests to validate functionality, usability, and performance of software applications. API & Database Testing: Conduct API testing to ensure proper integration and functionality; validate data integrity and accuracy in databases. Defect Tracking: Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs using defect management tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or Redmine . Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including developers and business analysts, to ensure quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Risk Identification: Proactively identify and report risks related to quality or schedules. Metrics Tracking: Track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts, to assess product quality. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies to enhance testing processes. Progress Tracking: Monitor and report project progress from a QA perspective, ensuring alignment with project goals. Mandatory Skills Manual Testing: Extensive experience in manual testing, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing. API Testing: Strong knowledge of API testing methodologies and tools. Database Knowledge: Proficiency in database testing, including validating data integrity and executing SQL queries. Agile/Scrum Experience: Experience working in Agile/Scrum development processes, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Test Case Management: Ability to create and maintain detailed test cases and scenarios. Defect Management: Experience in identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using tools like Jira or Bugzilla. Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues and propose solutions. Nice To Have Automation Tools: Familiarity with test automation tools like Selenium or Cucumber. Performance Testing: Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner. Security Testing: Knowledge of security testing practices and tools. Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Soft Skills Team Collaboration: Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to identify subtle defects and inconsistencies. Adaptability: Quick to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
