Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chartered Accountant (CA) to be hired as an Assistant Tax Manager specializing in Direct and International Taxation to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in tax laws, proficiency in project management, and a strong background in compliance, advisory, and litigation support. This role is integral in ensuring that the organization complies with tax regulations while optimizing tax strategies across multiple jurisdictions. /A Career Level - N/A Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: 1. Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance on direct and international tax laws, including Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAAs). Lead and manage tax audits, enquiries, and litigation across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks. Deliver actionable insights and strategies in tax compliance, advisory, and litigation support to optimize tax positions. Project Management and Coordination: Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration across departments. Oversee multiple tax-related projects, maintaining timely delivery and adherence to organizational objectives. Analyze complex datasets to extract insights, and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders. Documentation and Drafting: Prepare detailed and accurate documentation for submissions to tax authorities and courts. Draft responses, appeals, and tax-related reports that align with regulatory requirements. Maintain meticulous records for compliance and audit purposes. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Act as the primary liaison with internal teams, external advisors, and tax authorities. Foster a collaborative environment and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. Exhibit excellent communication skills to articulate tax matters to non-technical audiences. Technical Tools Proficiency: Utilize MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to prepare reports and presentations. Employ tax research tools and legal databases for analysis and advisory. Compliance and Strategic Initiatives: Design and implement strategies to address international taxation and regulatory compliance challenges. Lead initiatives on reorganization, restructuring, and alignment with evolving tax regulations. Provide recommendations on transfer pricing and intercompany transactions. Qualifications and Skills: Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification (mandatory), 5+ years of experience. Additional credentials such as LLB or certifications in international taxation are a plus. Experience: Minimum 5+ years of post-qualification experience in taxation, compliance, and litigation. Experience with Big 4 firms or multinational corporations is highly desirable. Technical Skills: Deep understanding of direct and international tax laws, DTAAs, and transfer pricing.
