The Manager, Technical Delivery is responsible for the establishment, career & skills development, and performance of multiple, geographically diverse engineering teams. The teams may consist of software development engineers, quality engineers, and DevOps engineers, ability to build a healthy team culture and successfully deliver software products using Agile methodologies, modern tech stacks and processes.
Job Functions
- Partner with business stakeholders to align product and engineering roadmaps. Manage the teams to ensure quality of deliverables are balanced with velocity and throughput expectations to ensure reasonable deliverable targets are met.
- Create a healthy culture of collaboration, innovation, and learning for the team, including key Agile concepts of Shift+Left, Shift+Right, and pairing of engineers to deliver highest quality work with optimal efficiency
- Ensure engineering team deliverables are of highest possible code quality, are well tested, and meet the needs of the target consumer
- Expertly monitor software development, quality engineering, and DevOps industry trends, emerging technologies, and raise opportunities that will result in cost savings, increased revenue, and/or improved security or customer experience.
- Foster a collaborative, learning environment for team members. Mentor and motivate staff to achieve optimal performance results and a cohesive team alignment.
- Drive maturity of assigned product through modernization of tech stack, coding standards, a cohesive test automation strategy, and availability of CI/CD pipeline
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- 5 years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, and/or DevOps
- 5 years of experience working in an Agile software development methodology
- 3 years of experience leading teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience recruiting, onboarding, and managing teams, and doing performance coaching
- 3 years of experience coding in an object-oriented development language and managing code
- Ability to expertly monitor software development, quality engineering, and DevOps industry trends, emerging technologies, and raise opportunities that will result in cost savings, increased revenue, and/or improved security or customer experience
- Detail-oriented, excellent communication skills and ability to build teams and positively influence culture modernization of tech stack, coding standards, a cohesive test automation strategy, and availability of CI/CD pipeline
- Highly organized, self-initiating, strong problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of test automation tools, coding tools, and continuous integration tools
- Working familiarity with REST APIs
- Previous experience building out and modernizing CI/CD pipelines, implementing a test automation, or software coding standards
- Previous experience managing corporate budgets and cost centers
- Working knowledge of relational databases such as MS SQL, and ability to create & execute queries
- Working experience with Atlassian products including, but not limited to, Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, MS Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
