Job Title: Team Lead – Freight Forwarding Operation

Role Overview:

The Operations Manager / Team Lead will oversee end-to-end freight forwarding operations, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods across international borders. This role demands strong coordination with carriers, customs, clients, and internal teams to streamline export processes and uphold service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Export Operations Management
• Supervise and execute international freight forwarding activities.
• Ensure accurate documentation: Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, etc.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, shipping lines, and transporters for smooth cargo movement
• Team Leadership
• Lead and mentor a team of export coordinators and logistics executives
• Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and conduct regular training sessions
• Client & Vendor Coordination
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients regarding shipment status and issue resolution
• Negotiate rates and service terms with carriers and freight partners
• Compliance & Documentation
• Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, INCOTERMS, and country-specific export laws
• Maintain records for audits and internal reviews
• Process Optimization
• Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements for faster turnaround
• Leverage digital tools and ERP systems to enhance operational efficiency
• Reporting & Analysis
• Generate MIS reports on shipment status, cost analysis, and vendor performance
• Present operational KPIs to senior management

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in any stream, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field will be a plus.

· 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

· Strong knowledge of Incoterms, HS codes, and customs procedures.

· Proficiency in ERP/TMS systems.

· Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
