Your Job As a Systems Administrator in Molex's Copper Solutions Business Unit, you will be responsible for supporting our software engineering and manufacturing teams, maintaining, upgrading, and improving our critical infrastructure, including our CI/CD pipelines, manufacturing servers, database servers, and other systems that enable efficient operations across the organization. Our Team Molex's Copper Solutions Business Unit (CSBU) is a global team that works together to deliver exceptional products to worldwide telecommunication and data center customers. SSG under CSBU is one of the most highly technically advanced software solution group within Molex. Our group leverages software expertise to enhance the concept, design, manufacturing, and support of high-speed electrical interconnects. What You Will Do Ensure high availability and reliability of servers supporting manufacturing operations. Perform regular backups, updates, and patches to minimize downtime and security risks. Monitor server performance metrics and address issues proactively. Administer database servers, ensuring performance optimization, storage scalability, and data security. Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for data integrity. Plan, test, and implement system upgrades across hardware and software systems. Ensure systems are fully compliant with organizational policies and industry best practices. Develop automation scripts and processes using Bash, Ansible, and Python to simplify regular administrative tasks. Partner closely with software engineers, manufacturing staff, and IT teams to address their technical needs. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. 3-5 years of proven experience in systems administration of Linux and Windows servers across CI/CD, manufacturing, and database environments. Proficiency in administering and maintaining RedHat Linux environments and Windows environments. Proficiency in creating and maintaining automation scripts and configurations using tools like Bash, Ansible, and Python Proven ability to manage system updates, patches, and backups to ensure system reliability and security. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Nagios, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk Demonstrated expertise in setting up and overseeing user authentication and authorization systems, along with managing system and website certificates. Strong troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve system, server, and database issues. Understanding networking standards and security to navigate firewall and access issues. Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting a wide range of networking protocols, including SSH, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, TCP/IP, and others critical to system administration and network operations. Analytical mindset to proactively monitor system health and find operational efficiencies. Ability to collaborate effectively with the software engineering team to address infrastructure needs. Strong communication skills to clearly document processes and share knowledge with the team. Experience with ticket/issue logging systems such as Jira. What Will Put You Ahead Familiarity with manufacturing systems (such as MES or ERP) is a plus. Familiarity with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM). Experience with additional automation tools or platforms that complement Ansible (e.g., Terraform, Puppet). Hands-on experience with Docker for containerized deployments and environments.
