Role Summary
We are seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented
Payroll Manager
to lead end-to-end payroll operations across our India and Middle East entities. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while actively driving process improvements, managing statutory compliance, leading internal audits, and collaborating cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Governance
- Lead and mentor the payroll team, ensuring consistent performance and professional development.
- Oversee Finance induction sessions for new joiners related to payroll, reimbursements, and policy orientation.
- Act as the primary liaison between Finance and HR for payroll-related strategy, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Payroll Operations (India & Middle East)
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing in coordination with HR and third-party vendors (e.g., TSR).
- Validate payroll inputs and review first-cut outputs; oversee final salary registers and initiate salary disbursements.
- Oversee processing of Car lease transactions and Flexible Benefit Plans (FBP), meal cards, and other benefits.
- Monitor and manage Full & Final settlements (FNF), ensuring accuracy and timely payouts.
- Accounting & Financial Controls
- Review and approve payroll-related accounting entries in Oracle (expenses, provisions, bank entries).
- Ensure timely posting and reconciliation of payroll JVs.
- Prepare and validate month-end variance analysis and GL-to-SR reconciliations.
- Drive timely and accurate provisioning of payroll expenses.
- Compliance & Audits
- Ensure adherence to statutory compliance for all payroll-related payouts (EPF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS, etc.).
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors; lead the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and review monthly balance sheet schedules related to payroll.
- Reimbursements & Settlements
- Review and approve employee reimbursements (travel, expense claims, credit card bills).
- Manage gratuity processing via the trust and related payouts.
- Initiate and oversee employee-related reimbursements and adhoc disbursements.
- Process Improvement & Stakeholder Management
- Handle employee queries via helpdesk-Tool and ensure timely resolution.
- Partner with HR and internal teams to support adhoc payroll requests and projects.
- Identify process gaps and lead automation or system improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 8–10 years of payroll experience, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of Indian and Middle East payroll regulations.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle and payroll tools (e.g., SAP, ADP, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
