Sr. HR Executive – Generalist

Experience: 2–3 years

Reports To: Head – HR

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented Sr. HR Executive (Generalist) with 2–3 years of relevant experience. The role requires managing the entire employee lifecycle and supporting the HR function across recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, payroll, compliance, and policy implementation. The candidate should be capable of independently handling day-to-day HR operations, ensuring smooth coordination between employees, management, and external stakeholders, and contributing towards building a positive work culture.

Key Responsibilities1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment process: sourcing, screening, shortlisting, coordinating interviews, and reference checks.
  • Post and update job advertisements on portals, social media, and internal networks.
  • Prepare and issue offer letters, appointment letters, and ensure pre-joining formalities are completed.
  • Conduct induction & orientation programs for new employees, ensuring smooth cultural integration.
  • Maintain and update candidate/employee databases in HRMS/Google Sheets.

2. Employee Engagement & Relations

  • Plan and execute employee engagement activities, celebrations, and recognition programs.
  • Act as a point of contact for employees, supporting in addressing queries, concerns, and grievances.
  • Assist in conflict resolution and escalate issues to senior HR/management as required.
  • Conduct employee feedback surveys, analyze responses, and propose engagement initiatives.

3. HR Operations & Documentation

  • Maintain and regularly update employee records in HRMS/Google Sheets.
  • Prepare, issue, and manage HR-related letters & documents (offer, confirmation, transfer, appraisal, experience, relieving).
  • Track employee attendance, leaves, late marks, and prepare monthly HR reports.
  • Support in policy drafting, communication, and implementation.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in maintaining employee files and HR data.

4. Payroll & Statutory Compliance

  • Collate and verify attendance, leaves, and overtime details for payroll processing.
  • Coordinate with the finance/payroll team to ensure accurate and timely salary disbursements.
  • Maintain records related to statutory compliance such as PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Gratuity, etc.
  • Stay updated with labor law amendments and ensure organizational compliance.
  • Support in audits and inspections related to HR and statutory compliance.

5. Performance Management & Development

  • Assist in coordinating the performance appraisal process and documentation.
  • Track probationary employees and ensure timely confirmation or extensions.
  • Support managers and employees in setting KRAs/goals and provide guidance on the appraisal process.
  • Maintain performance review trackers and follow-up with line managers for timely feedback.
  • Assist in identifying training needs and coordinating learning & development initiatives.

Key Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of HR functions, policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfort with Google Sheets.
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive information with integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in an HR Generalist role with exposure to recruitment, employee engagement, payroll, and compliance.
