Job Description

1. Position : Sr. Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

1. General Ledger Management

Oversee and manage the general ledger to ensure all transactions are properly recorded.

Ensure proper reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions.

Prepare and review journal entries for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

2. Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards.

Analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency with budgeted figures.

Assist in the preparation of external financial reports and regulatory filings as required.

3. Month-End and Year-End Close

Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all entries are processed and reconciled.

Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary information for the closing process.

Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.

4. Financial Analysis

Perform variance analysis to compare actual performance to budgeted and prior period results.

Identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for cost optimization and profitability improvement.

Provide financial insights to support management decision-making.

5. Budgeting and Forecasting

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Work closely with other departments to gather necessary financial data for budgeting.

Monitor budget performance, analyzing variances and providing recommendations to management.

6. Internal Controls & Compliance

Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Identify areas of process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as needed.

7. Mentorship and Training

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, helping them with technical accounting issues and their professional development.

Assist in training new employees or team members on accounting systems and procedures.

8. Accounts Payable and Receivable Oversight

Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure accuracy and timely processing.

Review and approve reconciliations and aging reports for both AP and AR.

9. Tax Compliance

Ensure compliance with tax regulations by preparing tax-related documents and reports.

Assist in preparing and reviewing tax returns (sales tax, income tax, etc.).

Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and advise management on potential impacts.

10. System and Process Improvements

Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and software tools to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Collaborate with IT or external vendors to resolve system-related issues or enhance capabilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Accounting: 4 years (Required)
