SQL Server DBA (Sr Eng Database Admin)
- The scope of this job is SQL database administration, which is responsible for the installation, testing, configuration, trouble shooting and maintenance of SQL Server 2008/12/14,16,17,19 technologies. Establishes and documents standards and procedures for management review. The candidate should have been able to create, implement process, making the database administration support model more efficient. The ability to follow instructions both written and verbal is paramount as well as the ability to multi-task. Strong verbal skills are a must. Flexible work schedule is a must.
Job Responsibilities
- Strong in operations management, technical skills and client service.
- Database operations:
- Responsibility lies with install, configure, troubleshoot and reporting on all SQL Server database environments for all outsourced client environments.
- Database Administration / Configuration / Patching/ Backup and Recovery and Cluster management
- Knowledge in High Availability and Maintainability solutions for log shipping, Database mirroring, replication, Always ON and clustered servers
- Knowledge and experience on SQL Server architecture
- Experience on SQL programming/PowerShell will be an added advantage.
- Assist for on-call duties as required.
- Adheres to procedures, maintains records and demonstrates commitment to solving user problems.
- Identify the reoccurring incidents/Issues and create the problem incidents to find the root cause of the event. Work with higher tiers to get the problem ticket to resolution.
- Perform basic analysis, troubleshoot basic issues and investigate on all other incidents prior to escalating to next level IN ORDER TO meet the resolution SLA
- Prepare Incident reports periodically and perform analysis to reduce the numbers of the incidents. Provide regular inputs to DB SME’s to improve the incident management process.

Skills, Education And Experience
- A relevant B.E./AMIE/IETE (Electronics/Electronics communication, Computer science); previous experience in IT may also qualify.
- 3-5 years of SQL Server DBA experience on installation, testing, commissioning, trouble shooting on production and development servers
- Strong analytical, problem solving skills to understand and anticipate the impact and opportunities across multiple projects.
- Knowledge on Windows operating systems. Candidate should be able to manage backup environments with heterogeneous operating systems.
- Good knowledge on ITIL processes. Added advantage if ITIL foundation Certified
- Demonstrates an authoritative and professional manner in verbal, written and telephone communications.
