Solar Cell Manufacturing Line - Machine Operator Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Design:

• Analyze project requirement of machinery based on the building plan and suggest correct combination of machinery and tools
• Sign off on design of unit layout diagram and identify any potential issues prior
• Oversee machinery FAT and installation process at the factory

Machine Operation and Maintenance:

• Overseeing the operation of various machines involved in solar cell manufacturing, such as Diffusion, printers, and automated handling systems.
• Implementing condition-based monitoring systems and conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to address machine malfunctions and improve performance. 
• Managing engineering critical spares, including monitoring and ordering replacements for regular maintenance. 

Production Management:

• Maintaining optimal production levels by calibrating and monitoring machinery, and ensuring daily targets are consistently achieved. 
• Performing detailed failure analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve production efficiency. 

Team Management:

• Leading and managing a team of maintenance technicians and engineers, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring proper training on equipment and safety protocols. 
• Organizing work shifts to ensure maintenance coverage across all operational hours. 

Continuous Improvement:

• Implementing lean manufacturing principles, such as Kaizen, Kanban, and DMAIC methodologies, to optimize production processes and resource utilization. 
• Developing and implementing energy-saving initiatives to reduce energy consumption in the manufacturing process. 

Quality Control:

• Working with quality control teams to ensure high product quality, reduce rejections, and implement corrective actions for field failures. 
• Conducting audits and reviews of suppliers and materials to maintain high standards of quality. 
• Spare Parts Management:
• Managing spare parts inventory, including identifying critical spares, drafting obsolescence studies, and proposing upgrades or replacements. 
• Working towards indigenization of spare parts to reduce costs and improve supply chain efficiency. 

Essential Skills:

Technical Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of solar cell manufacturing processes, PLC programming, and experience with various electrical components, including servo systems, variable frequency drives, and sensors. 

Management Skills:

• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, assign tasks, provide training, and manage performance. 

Problem-Solving:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. 

Lean Manufacturing Principles:

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies like Kaizen, Kanban, and DMAIC. 

Quality Control:

• Knowledge of quality control processes, material and product assurance, and supplier management. 

Communication:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members, management, and other stakeholders. 

Working Conditions

• Office and factory setting; occasional travel; adherence to safety protocols.
