Job Title
Snr Oracle Cloud Platform Engineer
The Snr Oracle Cloud Platform Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, planning, and execution of cloud migration and implementation projects across customer environments. This role involves deploying, configuring, and integrating core Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services to build secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud solutions that meet defined business and technical requirements.
The engineer must possess deep expertise in cloud technologies, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset toward delivering value in project-driven environments. Responsibilities include leading the infrastructure build-out, supporting workload migration from on-premises or other clouds, and ensuring alignment with architectural best practices and security standards.Strong technical acumen in Oracle Cloud and experience in managing full lifecycle cloud deployment projects are critical to success in this role.
- Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure Design, Implementation And Migration
- Designs robust, scalable, and resilient OCI cloud architecture based on business requirements and best practices.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of OCI implementation and migration projects, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline, and quality standards.
- Act as the technical lead for cloud migration initiatives, including discovery, assessment, design, execution, and validation phases.
- Own specific OCI-based solutions or service offerings, continuously improving their design, deployment process, and operational models.
- Implements cloud infrastructure components, including computer instances (VMs, Bare Metal, Functions, OKE), networking (VCNs, subnets, load balancers), storage solutions (Block, Object, File, Archive), and database services (Autonomous, Exadata, MySQL).
- Designs and implements backup, disaster recovery (DR), and high availability (HA) strategies leveraging OCI services.
- Designs and implements controls, including IAM, WAF, Cloud Guard, and OCI Vault.
- Plans and executes the migration of on-premises workloads to the OCI cloud.
- Develops and maintains infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates for automated deployments.
- Focuses on the implementation and management of backup, DR, and HA strategies.
- Designs resilient architectures for business continuity.
- Provisions and configures OCI environment components based on requirements.
- Implements scaling, network routing adjustments, and storage expansion.
- Ensures effective deployment and lifecycle management of cloud resources.
Cloud Infrastructure Management & Operations
- Manages and optimizes deployed cloud infrastructure components, ensuring availability, performance, operational excellence, cost optimization and security.
- Monitors and troubleshoots cloud environments, resolving incidents and implementing preventive measures.
- Apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) for provisioning and configuration.
- Performs routine system maintenance, patching, and updates.
- Ensures service delivery meets agreed service levels, tracking resource performance and cost efficiency.
- Documents operational procedures and best practices for continuous improvement.
- Ensures proper monitoring, logging, and alerting using OCI services.
- Diagnoses and resolves OCI infrastructure issues, minimizing downtime.
Automation & Scripting
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline routine tasks, enhance efficiency, and reduce manual errors.
- Leverage tools, scripting languages and scripts to automate complex tasks.
- Manage and maintain cloud automation solutions (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to streamline deployments and configuration tasks.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams on application deployments, upgrades, and integrations.
- Provides technical documentation and training.
Continuous Learning & Development
- Stay abreast of the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices, pursuing certifications and continuous learning opportunities to enhance technical skills and expertise.
- Participate in training and certifications to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Customer Support
- Provide technical support to customers, addressing their service requests, questions and resolving issues.
- Collaborate with customer success teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Document knowledge base articles and FAQs to improve self-service capabilities.
