Slickline Project Manager:
Department: Slickline Operations
Reports To: Country Manager
Location: Kuwait
Supervises: Operation Manager, Slickline Supervisors, Field Engineers, Field
Technicians, and Support Staff
1. Position Summary
The Slickline Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution,
management, and performance of all slickline projects and contracts.
This includes ensuring operational excellence, HSE compliance, cost control,
manpower management, and client satisfaction.
The role combines technical expertise, project management, and commercial
accountability to deliver safe, efficient, and profitable operations.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Project Planning & Execution
Lead all phases of slickline project execution — from mobilization and operations
to demobilization and close‐out.
Prepare and review project execution plans, risk assessments, and HSE plans
before commencement.
Ensure all equipment, tools, and personnel are mobilized according to project
specifications and timelines.
Monitor daily operational activities and provide technical guidance to supervisors
and field crews.
Manage interfaces with clients, drilling contractors, and third‐party service
providers.
Conduct regular site visits to ensure operations are performed safely, efficiently,
and in line with company standards.
B. Technical & Operational Management
Review and approve slickline programs, well intervention procedures, and
pressure control setups.
Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and certification of all slickline units and
pressure control equipment.
Support the introduction of new technology, tools, and procedures to enhance
performance.
Validate and approve job reports, tool strings, fishing operations, and well records.
Troubleshoot complex downhole operational problems in coordination with field
engineers.
Maintain full technical compliance with API, ISO, and client specifications.
C. HSE & Quality Assurance
Ensure all operations comply with company HSE management system, ISO 45001
/ 14001, and client safety standards.
Promote a strong HSE culture and lead by example.
Review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Toolbox Talks (TBTs), and incident reports.
Participate in incident investigations and management reviews.
Monitor KPI trends (e.g., TRIR, near‐miss frequency, audit findings) and implement
improvement actions.
Verify all personnel have valid H₂S, first aid, and safety training prior to site
deployment.
D. Contract & Financial Management
Oversee all commercial and financial aspects of the slickline project.
Monitor and control project budgets, OPEX, and profitability.
Approve timesheets, job tickets, POs, and invoices.
Track equipment utilization, manpower productivity, and revenue performance.
Prepare and present monthly project performance reports to management and
clients.
Support business development and tendering teams in preparing technical and
commercial proposals.
E. Client Relations & Communication
Act as the primary point of contact for the client on all project‐related matters.
Attend client coordination and performance review meetings.
Ensure client feedback and satisfaction KPIs are tracked and addressed.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key client representatives
(Operations, HSE, Procurement, QA/QC).
Address client non‐conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
F. Manpower & Competency Management
Supervise, train, and evaluate field personnel to maintain competency standards.
Develop and implement training and competency matrices for slickline crews.
Support recruitment and succession planning of qualified slickline personnel.
Ensure crew rotations are planned to optimize efficiency and cost.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Zero LTI / Recordable Incidents.
Operational uptime: ≥ 98%.
Job success ratio: ≥ 95%.
Client satisfaction score: ≥ 90%.
Project gross margin: within target or above.
Audit close‐out compliance: ≥ 95%.
Crew competency compliance: ≥ 95%.
4. Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or
equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum 10–15 years of experience in slickline/well intervention operations.
At least 5 years in a supervisory or project management role.
Certifications:
IWCF Level 2 or 3 – Well Intervention Pressure Control.
H₂S & BA, First Aid, Firefighting, and Defensive Driving.
NEBOSH / IOSH Managing Safely (preferred).
PMP certification (advantageous).
5. Skills & Competencies
Strong technical knowledge of slickline tools, fishing, well intervention techniques,
and pressure control systems.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Solid understanding of HSE systems and quality assurance processes.
Financial acumen for budgeting, cost control, and forecasting.
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines under pressure.
Fluent in English (spoken and written); Arabic language is an advantage.
Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and reporting tools.
6. Reporting & Relationships
Reports to Country Manager.
Works closely with QHSE Manager, Base Manage, and Client Representatives.
Supervises Operation Manager, Slickline Supervisors, Engineers, and Technicians.
7. Work Environment
Office‐based with frequent travel to onshore and offshore worksites.
May require rotational or extended field assignments depending on project needs.
Must be available 24/7 on call for operational or emergency support
