Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced (Min. 5-10 Years) and dynamic Service Manager to lead and manage the Diesel Generator (DG) service department. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge in DG systems (electrical & mechanical), excellent leadership skills, and the ability to ensure high-quality service delivery, customer satisfaction, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Service Operations Management

* Oversee day-to-day DG service operations, including breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and overhauling.

* Develop and implement service processes, quality standards, and safety procedures.

* Ensure all service jobs are completed on time and with high technical accuracy.

2. Team Leadership & Development

* Lead, guide, and supervise service engineers, technicians, and coordinators.

* Provide technical training and support to the service team.

* Allocate manpower effectively for service calls and projects.

* Conduct performance evaluations and support skill development.

3. Customer Relationship Management

* Handle escalated customer issues and provide effective technical solutions.

* Maintain strong relationships with key clients and ensure customer satisfaction.

* Visit major sites when needed to review service quality and resolve challenges.

4. Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting

* Provide expert guidance in diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues in DG sets.

* Support major overhauls, alternator issues, AMF panels, synchronization systems, and engine problems.

* Review root cause analysis (RCA) for repeated failures and implement corrective actions.

5. Service Planning & Reporting

* Prepare and monitor annual maintenance schedules (AMC).

* Track service KPIs – response time, closure rate, customer feedback, etc.

* Review service reports, technician logs, material usage, and job cards.

* Generate weekly/monthly performance reports for management.

6. Coordination With Internal Teams

* Coordinate with the materials, stores, and procurement teams for spare parts availability.

* Support the sales team in pre-sales activities (technical clarification, site assessment, etc.).

* Collaborate with the project team during DG installation or commissioning work.

7. Financial Control & Cost Management

* Manage service department budgets and control operational costs.

* Approve service estimates, quotations, and spare requirements.

* Monitor revenue from AMC contracts, breakdown services, and spare parts sales.

8. Compliance & Safety

* Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory regulations.

* Conduct regular safety audits and enforce safe working practices.

* Ensure proper documentation, warranty tracking, and adherence to company policies.

Requirements:

* Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

* 5–10+ years of experience in DG servicing, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.

* Strong technical knowledge of engines, alternators, AMF panels, and DG electrical systems.

* Excellent leadership, communication, and customer-handling skills.

* Ability to manage multiple teams and high-pressure situations.

* Proficiency in MS Office, service documentation, and reporting.

Preferred Skills:

* Experience with major DG brands (Kirloskar, Cummins, Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, etc.).

* Knowledge of synchronization systems and load management.

* Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
