Job Summary:

Senior Purchase Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead procurement activities for

    raw materials (cocoa, sugar, milk solids, oil, etc.)

    and

    packaging materials (foils, wrappers, cartons, containers, etc.)

    across all product categories.
  • Develop, evaluate, and manage strategic suppliers for quality, cost, reliability, and delivery performance.
  • Forecast demand and coordinate with production and planning teams to ensure uninterrupted material supply.
  • Drive procurement cost optimization, develop alternate sources, and manage risk and price fluctuations.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, FSSAI regulations, and internal specifications.
  • Maintain and regularly update the vendor database with performance metrics.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers, ensuring best commercial terms.
  • Implement procurement policies, procedures, and best practices for raw and packaging materials.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including R&D, QA, manufacturing, and finance.
  • Stay up to date with market trends, raw material indexes, import/export duties, and regulatory changes.

Key Requirements:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience

    in procurement within the FMCG industry, particularly with

    chocolates, confectionery, and edible oil

    categories.
  • Strong background in sourcing both

    raw materials and packaging materials.

  • Hands-on experience in

    working with Indian vendors/suppliers

    and a deep understanding of domestic sourcing dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of

    supply chain, inventory control, and vendor management.

  • Ability to lead a team and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering (MBA preferred).
