Overview
The IT Project Senior Manager is responsible for end-to-end delivery of complex technology projects within the Payments Modernization portfolio. The role ensures alignment with business objectives, adherence to Citi’s governance and control frameworks, and timely execution of program deliverables across multiple functional areas.This position requires deep project management expertise, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously within a global and matrixed organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple large-scale technology initiatives from inception through implementation.
- Establish and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and risk/issue logs ensuring alignment to Citi’s PMO standards and policies.
- Coordinate cross-functional workstreams involving Product, Technology, Operations, and external partners to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Drive governance activities including weekly updates, milestone tracking, dependency management, and risk escalations.
- Ensure compliance with Citi’s change management, security, and audit standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present senior stakeholders -level updates, highlighting key risks, mitigations, and path-to-green plans.
- Partner with regional and global teams to align delivery timelines, ensure consistency in execution, and leverage best practices across markets.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance project execution efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Certifications:
PMP, Agile certification (preferably SAFe Agilist)
Experience:
15+years of IT project or program management experience in a large financial services or technology organization.Proven track record in delivering technology transformation, payments, or core banking initiatives.Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery models, and enterprise governance processes.
Technical / Domain Skills:
Demonstrated experience in the agile software development processFamiliarity with project management tools such as PTS, JIRA, Clarity, or equivalent.
Business Skills:
An understanding and exposure to PaymentsShould be dedicated and demonstrate superior skills in communication, problem solving and collaboration.
Organizational:
Able to work with a virtual (geographically dispersed) technical scrum team.Possesses good organizational and prioritization skills.Self-motivated, independent and takes the initiative.------------------------------------------------------
