Job Description

Role Objective:

A key objective of this position is to drive continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations by implementing process optimization, automation, and lean manufacturing methodologies. The incumbent will be responsible for enhancing productivity, improving process efficiency, minimizing waste, and ensuring adherence to best operational practices such as 5S, Kaizen, MUDA elimination, and Kanban.


Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in process improvement, manufacturing excellence, or industrial engineering within a production environment.
  • Strong exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation-based improvement projects.
  • Hands-on experience in 5S, Kaizen, and MUDA elimination projects.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis, process mapping, and data-based problem solving.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Identify, analyze, and implement process improvement opportunities across manufacturing lines.
  • Drive automation projects to minimize manual intervention and improve process cycle times.
  • Lead and sustain 5S implementation across production areas.
  • Optimize manpower utilization through workflow improvements and reduction of non-value-added activities.
  • Initiate and lead Kaizen projects to improve efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing tools such as Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Standard Work, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Monitor process rejections and downtime, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Conduct waste (MUDA) identification and elimination projects to improve resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Planning) to achieve productivity and quality improvement goals.
  • Facilitate training sessions for shop-floor teams on lean tools and continuous improvement practices.
  • Prepare and present progress reports, dashboards, and improvement summaries to management.


Functional Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
  • Understanding of process flow design, time and motion study, and capacity analysis.
  • Ability to perform data analysis using Excel or statistical tools.
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing automation concepts and systems.

Individual contributor role, reporting to the Sr. Manager Production.
