Senior Executive/Assistant Manager Payroll (Full Time Role)

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Senior Executive / Assistant Manager to manage end-to-end payroll processes. This role will ensure accurate salary disbursement, statutory compliance, and seamless coordination between HR, Finance, and employees. The position demands precision, confidentiality, and strong knowledge of payroll and labor regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll Management

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for permanent and contractual employees.
  • Validate attendance, overtime, leave data, and ensure accurate computation of salaries, reimbursements, variable pay, and incentives.
  • Oversee

    investment declarations, tax regime selection (Old vs. New Regime),

    and

    LTA tracking

    for employees who have opted for it.
  • Handle

    Full & Final settlements

    including leave encashment, gratuity, and statutory dues.

Payroll Automation & Systems

  • Drive payroll automation and process standardization across units.
  • Maintain and update payroll in HRMS / Payroll software (Keka, Darwin Box, Zoho, etc.).
  • Support digital record keeping and system integration with Finance.

Compliance & Statutory Management

  • Manage enrolment of new employees under

    PF and ESIC

    schemes.
  • Handle statutory deductions (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, Gratuity, etc.) and ensure timely deposits.
  • Prepare and file

    monthly, quarterly, and annual returns

    as per statutory timelines.
  • Stay updated with labour laws, income tax rules, and payroll compliance requirements.

Audit, Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare payroll MIS, variance reports, and reconciliation statements.
  • Support internal/external audits and ensure statutory records are maintained.
  • Coordinate with Finance for payroll accounting, disbursement, and reporting.

Employee Support

  • Resolve payroll queries related to salary slips, deductions, tax computation, and compliance.
  • Provide guidance to employees on tax regime selection, investment proof submission, and reimbursements.
  • Ensure seamless communication of payroll policies, statutory updates, and timelines.

REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, statutory compliance, and taxation.
  • Ability to handle end-to-end payroll with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in HRMS/Payroll software (e.g., Keka, Darwin Box, Zoho) and MS Excel
  • Solid understanding of PF, ESI, PT, TDS, and other statutory requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and query-handling abilities with employees
  • Ability to manage payroll for multi-location operations and ensure standardization.
  • Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and timely execution of payroll cycles.
  • Strong time management and task prioritization skills under given timelines.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a proactive and process-driven approach

Qualification and Experience:

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in Commerce, HR, or related field.
  • 25 years of experience in payroll management (for Assistant Manager level).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, MS Excel, and statutory compliance.
  • Familiarity with HRMS software (Keka, Darwin Box, Zoho, or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to handle employee queries professionally.

Salary would be in line with the experience.
