Job Purpose

To independently manage end-to-end payroll processing and statutory compliances including EPF and ESIC, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management

  • Handle end-to-end payroll processing independently for employees on monthly basis.
  • Process attendance, overtime, incentives, deductions, reimbursements, and arrears.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, TDS, PT, LOP, bonuses, and final settlements.
  • Generate payslips and payroll reports.
  • Coordinate with Finance for salary disbursement and payroll accounting entries.
  • Handle full & final settlement, gratuity, and leave encashment.

Statutory Compliance – EPF & ESIC

  • Independently manage EPF and ESIC compliances.
  • Ensure timely preparation and filing of EPF & ESIC monthly challans and returns.
  • Handle EPF activities including:
    • UAN generation and activation
    • KYC verification
    • ECR generation and submission
    • EPF transfers, withdrawals, and exits
  • Handle ESIC activities including:
    • Employee registration and exit
    • IP details updates
    • ESIC benefit coordination
  • Liaise with EPFO & ESIC authorities for inspections, notices, and audits.
  • Maintain statutory registers and records as per labour laws.

Tax & Compliance

  • Support payroll-related income tax calculations and TDS reconciliation.
  • Assist in Form 16 generation and annual payroll closures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory timelines.

MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly payroll MIS, statutory reports, and management dashboards.
  • Maintain accurate payroll data, employee master data, and records.
  • Handle internal and external payroll audits.

Employee Support

  • Address employee queries related to payroll, EPF, ESIC, and deductions.
  • Provide guidance on statutory benefits and payroll processes.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong hands-on experience in payroll processing, EPF & ESIC.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian payroll laws and statutory compliances.
  • Experience in handling payroll independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in Commerce, HR, or related field.
  • Payroll or statutory compliance certification is an added advantage.
  • Experience handling medium to large employee headcount preferred.
