Job Summary:

The Payroll Manager (IC) is responsible for independently managing the complete payroll process using Zoho Payroll and Zoho People. This role ensures accurate salary processing, statutory compliance, data management, and payroll reporting without a team. The ideal candidate must be hands-on, detail-oriented, and proficient in Zoho payroll systems.

Qualifications & Requirements: -

  • Bachelors degree in Commerce, HR, Finance, or related field.
  • 4–8 years of strong hands-on payroll experience with mandatory Zoho Payroll/Zoho People expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian payroll laws and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage payroll independently with high accuracy and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. End-to-End Payroll Processing:

  • Independently manage monthly payroll for all employees through Zoho Payroll.
  • Validate attendance, shift schedules, and leave data integrated from Zoho People.
  • Process salary calculations, incentives, overtime, reimbursements, and deductions accurately.
  • Manage full & final settlements, onboarding payroll setup, and CTC structuring.

2. Zoho Payroll System Management:

  • Configure salary components, payroll policies, tax settings, and pay runs in Zoho Payroll.
  • Maintain and optimize workflows across Zoho Payroll, Zoho People, and Zoho Books.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with Zoho support when required.
  • Implement updates or new payroll automations.

3. Statutory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS, and other statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory returns.
  • Manage Form 16, challans, and statutory documentation.

4. Reporting & Documentation:

  • Generate payroll MIS reports, monthly payroll summaries, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain accurate and updated payroll records, employee files, and tax declarations.
  • Provide payroll insights to management for budgeting and audits.

5. Employee Support:

  • Handle employee payroll queries regarding salary slips, income tax, reimbursements, and Zoho portal usage.
  • Conduct payroll orientations for new employees.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Work closely with HR and Finance teams on payroll data, budgets, and compliance.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits.
