NexiGO Energy is a startup company specializing in delivering highly efficient and best-in-class products to the Electric Vehicle market. We are looking for a candidate who shares our passion for global electrification and the use of renewable energy sources in daily life. The individual needs to be creative, passionate, open-minded, take ownership of the company’s goals and objectives, and most importantly, carry a positive CAN-DO attitude with a go-getter mindset. In addition, the candidate will be working in a close collaborative team of other electrical/electronics, mechanical, marketing professionals, and Founders. We expect the candidate to nurture creativity and innovation in product development. The role involves regular communication with global clients (across different time zones), requiring strong interpersonal skills, data-driven decision making to align on project needs and deliverables, and flexibility to work occasional late hours as needed to accommodate international meetings and collaborations. The individual shall have excellent analytical skills in evaluating engineering test data to learn and make informed judgments. Furthermore, the candidate should have the attitude to get hands dirty, embrace hands-on work throughout the product development cycle, including prototyping, engineering tasks, and supporting production activities without hesitation.
Leadership:
· Define project scope, requirements, budget, and timeline. Prioritize required work on projects.
· Work distribution, managing, and guiding Junior Mechanical Engineers.
· Communicating with leadership team and global clients effectively, presenting clear and precise results supported by data-driven insights.
· Use engineering skills in performing calculations, following engineering best practices, and making sound judgments during product development.
· Create engineering processes and procedures to enable successful product launches.
· Conduct design reviews with internal and external reviewers, including global stakeholders.
· Roughly 25% leadership, and 75% individual contributor work.
· Individual Contributor:
· Ideation, designing, prototyping, and developing as per product requirements.
· Lead 3D CAD and BOM generation, perform detailed design work on large complex systems.
· Create detailed component and assembly drawings using GD&T and evaluate assembly tolerance stack-ups.
· Develop and fabricate functional prototypes and test methods to validate new concepts, with a hands-on approach to engineering and troubleshooting.
· Collaborate closely with suppliers to develop manufacturable parts, minimize cost, and maximize consistency.
· Complete design cycles from concepts to fully validated production designs.
· Support service, manufacturing, purchasing, and production teams as needed to ensure parts and designs are successfully implemented in mass production, including hands-on involvement in resolving production issues.
· Lead cost reduction efforts for mature products.
· Generate engineering documentation for automation systems.
· Work with global suppliers to ensure product and manufacturing process quality.
· Engage in regular communication with global clients, including participating in calls and meetings that may require occasional late hours due to time zone differences.
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
· Experience with plastics and metal enclosure manufacturing processes.
· Attention to detail and dedication to thoroughness and engineering procedures.
· Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals, such as statics, dynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
· Proficiency in CAD design, SolidWorks is preferred.
· Proficiency in tooling processes and design for manufacturability.
· Proficiency in machining, casting, 3D printing, plastics tooling, sheet metal manufacturing experience.
· Proficient written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with global clients and cross-functional teams.
· Prior experience in GD&T, FEA analysis, and simulations.
· Hands-on aptitude – able to dive in and troubleshoot issues, with a go-getter attitude for prototyping, engineering tasks, and supporting production.
· Ability to generate ideas in response to complex issues and execute on solutions using data-driven decision making.
· Flexibility to work occasional late hours to support communication and collaboration with global clients and stakeholders.
· Desire to work in a startup environment.
· Minimum of Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
· M.Tech/P.hD in Mechanical engineering preferred
· Post-graduation Tooling/machining training preferred
· Minimum of 5 years of related experience in Product Development
· Minimum of 5 years of experience using CAD tools
· Minimum 3 years of experience in 3D printing, prototyping, and manufacturing
