Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Manager to oversee our legal operations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including estate planning, environmental law, and litigation. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Legal Manager will work closely with attorneys and support staff to facilitate effective legal processes and provide administrative support.

Duties

  • Manage legal case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation.
  • Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Oversee project management for various legal initiatives, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Provide executive administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
  • Assist in interviewing clients and witnesses as part of case preparation.
  • Maintain document management systems for efficient retrieval of information.
  • Collaborate with team members on estate planning, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, patent law, and workers' compensation law matters.
  • Ensure compliance with tribal laws and regulations when applicable.
  • Facilitate communication between clients and legal staff while maintaining professional phone etiquette.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of UCC law and environmental law principles.
  • Proficient in PCLaw, iManage, and other legal software applications.
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
  • Ability to conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
  • Experience in litigation processes and document review.
  • Familiarity with clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and transcription.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced law office environment.
