Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Jira Administrator to manage, configure, and optimize our Atlassian toolset, primarily focusing on Jira Service Management, Jira Software, and Confluence. This role will involve working closely with stakeholders, development teams, and support functions to ensure our Jira and Confluence environments are configured for optimal performance, usability, and process efficiency.The ideal candidate will possess expert-level Jira administration skills, hands-on experience with Atlassian REST APIs, and a proven track record of implementing automation to streamline workflows. The role requires working in a US Time Zone shift and offers a hybrid work arrangement from Noida or Kolkata.
Key Responsibilities
Jira Administration
- Administer and maintain Jira Service Management and Jira Software instances with a focus on scalability, performance, and stability.
- Configure and manage projects, workflows, screens, schemes, custom fields, permissions, and notifications based on business needs.
- Implement advanced configurations for service desks, request types, SLAs, and queues.
- Create, maintain, and optimize automation rules to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions ensuring data security and compliance.
Confluence Administration
- Administer Confluence spaces, templates, and macros to enhance team collaboration.
- Set up and maintain knowledge bases integrated with Jira Service Management.
- Manage space permissions and provide guidance on content organization.
Integration & Automation
- Work with Atlassian REST APIs to build custom integrations and reporting solutions.
- Integrate Jira/Confluence with third-party tools like Slack, MS Teams, GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.
- Implement automation scripts to support workflows and reporting.
Reporting & Data Analysis
- Create and maintain custom dashboards, filters, and reports to meet project and management needs.
- Work with SQL to query backend databases for advanced reporting and analytics.
- Monitor system performance and produce health reports.
User Support & Training
- Conduct user training sessions and create documentation for Jira and Confluence best practices.
- Provide Level 2/3 support for complex Jira-related issues.
- Partner with project managers, scrum masters, and stakeholders to align Jira configurations with Agile/Scrum processes.
Must-Have Skills
- Expert-level experience in Jira Service Management Administration.
- Expert-level experience in Jira Software Administration.
- Strong Confluence Administration skills.
- Proficiency with Atlassian REST APIs and Jira Automation.
- Solid understanding of SQL for reporting and troubleshooting.
- Experience in setting up knowledge bases and maintaining documentation.
- Ability to conduct user training, project configuration, and best-practice guidance.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Agile and ITIL-based service management processes.
- Familiarity with Atlassian Cloud administration and migration projects.
- Basic understanding of Groovy or scripting for Jira automation (e.g., ScriptRunner).
- Understanding of security, compliance, and data privacy best practices.
