Position Senior Jewellery Designer & Design Manager
Qualification  Graduate/Postgraduate in Jewellery Design from a prestigiousinstitution (e.g., GIA, NID, IIGJ, or equivalent)Relevant Industry From Gems and Jewellery IndustriesJob Description / Responsibilities 1. Creative Direction & High Jewellery Design Lead and create original high jewellery designs, focusing onexceptional craftsmanship, rare gemstones, and sophisticatedaesthetics. Translate design briefs and brand ethos into unique,collectible jewellery pieces. Conceptualise and illustrate detailed sketches by hand anddigitally (using tools like Procreate or Adobe). Ensure all designs are aligned with the brand’s creativeidentity and values—timelessness, rarity, precision, andelegance. Research global design trends, historical references, and geminnovations to continually evolve the creative direction.
  • Collection Development & Curation
 Strategize and develop seasonal and capsule high jewellery
collections from ideation to final prototype. Design signature pieces that push the boundaries of designand highlight the brand’s storytelling and material excellence. Prepare curated capsule series for high jewellery events,bespoke clients, and private exhibitions.
  • Client-Centric Custom Design
 Directly handle bespoke design requests from VIP clients—
understand their preferences, lifestyle, and personal stories tocreate heirloom-quality pieces. Lead client-facing design consultations and presentationswhen required, with a deep understanding of ultra-high-net-worth expectations.
  • Technical Development & CAD Oversight
 Collaborate closely with CAD team and artisans to translate
hand-drawn concepts into technically sound andmanufacturable designs. Review and approve all CAD and 3D outputs, ensuringaccuracy of dimensions, stone settings, comfort, anddurability. Troubleshoot and optimise structural complexities, especiallyin high jewellery engineering.
  • Team Management & Mentorship
 Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of jewellery designers, CAD
modelers, and interns. Assign design tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timelydelivery of all design output. Conduct regular feedback sessions, skill-building workshops,and design reviews.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
 Collaborate with merchandising, sourcing, marketing, and
production departments for smooth execution of collections. Work closely with gem sourcing teams to select rare andexceptional stones for key pieces. Liaise with the manufacturing team to oversee technicalfeasibility, fabrication nuances, and finishing quality.
  • Brand Stewardship & Design Archiving
 Serve as a guardian of the brand’s design heritage and visual
identity. Maintain a detailed archive of all original designs, sketches,prototypes, and final pieces. Ensure all creative work respects the exclusivity and rarity thatdefine the brand.
  • Quality & Aesthetic Control
 Inspect and evaluate the final products for aesthetic finesse,
proportion, symmetry, and visual balance. Provide creative inputs during the stone setting and finishingstages to maintain artistic integrity.
  • Vendor & Artisan Liaison
 Identify and engage with master craftsmen, stone setters,
enamel artists, and specialty karigars for complex artisanalrequirements. Ensure design concepts are communicated with precision toensure quality in execution.
  • Budget & Resource Planning
 Assist in the allocation of design and production budgets
related to high jewellery pieces. Oversee design resource planning including referencematerials, prototyping tools, software upgrades, and artistmaterials.
  • Merchandising, Stock & Asset Oversight (Newly Added Section)
 Oversee and maintain the master inventory of all finishedjewellery pieces, gemstone assets, prototypes, and samplecollections stored at the design studio. Ensure meticulous documentation and tracking of all jewelleryassets—both creative and commercial—including tagging,valuation records, certifications, and photography. Manage the movement of jewellery pieces betweendepartments (design, production, marketing, boutique), andensure proper handover logs and approvals are maintained. Collaborate with merchandising and sales teams to align stockavailability with seasonal collection launches, trunk shows,and private viewings. Conduct periodic stock audits and reconciliation incoordination with accounts or finance, ensuring accuraterecords of both in-use and archived assets. Support internal merchandising decisions by providingcreative input on product assortment, pricing rationales, anddesign lifecycle management. Track the performance of key designs and collections to adviseon potential re-editions, re-interpretations, or repurposing ofunsold pieces. Maintain secure storage and access control protocols for allhigh-value pieces in the studio’s possession, ensuringcompliance with brand standards and insurancerequirements.

Essential Skills  Exceptional Hand-sketching And Design Development Ability

 Strong aesthetic judgement, with a refined eye for luxury, detail, andproportion Advanced understanding of jewellery construction, engineering, andfinishing Mastery of CAD tools (Rhino, Matrix, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite Deep understanding of gemstones, diamond cuts, and stone settingtechniques Strong leadership, communication, and team mentoring skills Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple collections andtimelines Client-focused mindset with strong interpersonal and storytelling skills Absolute discretion, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity whe Proven portfolio of original high jewellery creations Prior experience working with ultra-high-end clients or heritage/luxurybrands preferredCompensation range NegotiableLocation of posting Gurgaon, HaryanaSkills: merchandising,communication,management
