About the role
We are looking for a Senior HR & Payroll Executive to join us in Chandigarh, taking responsibility for all payroll operations and key HR processes across our India offices. This role plays a central part in ensuring accurate payroll delivery, smooth employee experiences, and consistent compliance with local regulations. You will manage the full payroll cycle for India and act as the backup for our EMEA payroll and benefits processes, ensuring seamless continuity across regions. Alongside payroll, you will handle onboarding and offboarding, maintain HR data, support audits, and help shape and record our local HR policies. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working across both numbers and people, combining precision and interpersonal connection. The position also offers scope to broaden into an HR business partnering path over time, as you build a strong foundation in people operations and regional HR support. What you'll do

  • Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for India, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Act as a backup for EMEA payroll and benefits, collaborating closely with regional HR/Payroll teams to ensure continuity.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding for all India offices, coordinating documentation, induction, and exit formalities.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to prepare offer letters and employment documents, ensuring a smooth candidate-to-employee transition.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in HR systems and ensure compliance with record-keeping standards.
  • Review, centralise, and update India HR policies to ensure alignment with local legislation and organisational practices.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing, reviewing, and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
  • Respond to employee queries and provide guidance on HR policies and processes.
  • Support employee engagement and recognition activities in our India offices, helping to build a connected and inclusive culture.

What we're looking for

  • 5-10 years of proven experience managing full-cycle India payroll, including statutory compliance, reporting, and vendor coordination.
  • Strong understanding of Indian labour laws, taxation, and payroll governance.
  • Experience supporting audits and maintaining compliance documentation.
  • Proficiency with HR information systems (HiBob highly desired) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and regions.
  • A proactive and dependable approach, comfortable taking ownership of processes and deadlines.
