What You’ll Do
We are looking for motivated professionals with strong skills to lead the multiple projects related with development of Busways in accordance with UL standards to meet market needs, within budget, on-time and with required level of quality. Provide mentorship to team for building knowledge base around LV assemblies and components. Drive the culture of innovative problem-solving techniques. S(H)e should lead efforts in PreLaunch and ProLaunch projects and develop new product variants and technologies. S(h)e should also design cost-effective and reliable solutions.Success in this position requires the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, strong motivation for pursuing project objectives and the ability to learn new techniques and development processes. We are looking for candidates who are able to see the bigger picture; strength in a system-level viewpoint is a must. Problem solvers who are excited about learning new technologies, Understand the xRL levels and develop actions to increase maturity, Guide and mentor team for concept, detailed design and industrialization activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering in Mechanical/Electrical with 10+ years of experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing LV Busways electrical products
- Experience technically guiding a team through all stages of the prodcut development cycle
- Experience in short circuit, temperature rise, arc test, test duties in accordance with IEEE/IEC/UL standards
- Knowledge in Agile ProLaunch and PreLaunch processes
- Experience in product costing and analyzing cost break-up due to various manufacturing processes/design features
Skills
Technical Expertise
- Proven experience in Busway Rating design (50A–4000A) for Data Centers, Industrial & Commercial buildings in North America.
- Strong knowledge of UL 857 & CSA C22.2 No. 27 standards for testing and qualification.
- Skilled in design analysis, DFSS, DFR, DMAIC, tolerance stack-up, and Design for Manufacturing & Assembly.
- Proficient in reliability predictions, FMEA, and structural/thermal/CFD/MBD analysis.
- Develops and executes test plans (short circuit, temperature rise, arc tests) per IEC/UL standards; conducts root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Hands-on experience with PLM systems (Enovia, SAP) and 3D CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor).
Product Ownership
- Collaborates with global teams to deliver engineering designs and specifications.
- End-to-end design & development of switchgear product lines; guides simulation engineers on short circuit and thermal analysis.
- Drives decisions on new and sustaining products, field issue resolution, and retrofits.
- Leverages local ecosystem for faster validation and execution.
Technology & Innovation Leadership
- Generates innovative solutions for competitive advantage; ensures compliance with IEEE, UL standards.
- Provides technical mentoring, risk assessment, and supports on-time NPI launches.
- Proposes cost-out ideas via benchmarking, modularity, and standardization.
