Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Role/Job Description: We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer with around 4 years of hands-on experience, strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automation, observability, and Azure cloud services, along with practical experience in infrastructure-as-code. The candidate should be highly proficient in core DevOps practices while also being capable of deploying and managing workloads in Azure. They will be responsible for improving deployment efficiency, ensuring platform reliability, building automation, and supporting scalable cloud environments in collaboration with development and operations teams.

What roles and responsibilities will be performed by the selected candidate?

• 
  CI/CD Pipeline Engineering (Azure DevOps & Jenkins)
  
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Pipelines and Jenkins.
  
• Manage Azure Repos, branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
  
• Automate build, test, and deploy workflows for applications and microservices.
  
• Integrate pipelines with security scans, quality gates, and approval workflows.
  
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures and ensure seamless release processes.
  
• Cloud Infrastructure Management (Azure)
  
• Manage, and optimize cloud resources using Azure services (VMs, Storage, VNets, Load Balancers, AKS, App Services, Firewall, Application Gateway, Databricks, Data Factory, OpenAI etc.).
  
• Manage and configure Azure networking components such as VNets, subnets, NSGs, Application Gateways, Firewalls, Private Endpoints, and VPN/ExpressRoute connectivity.
  
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of cloud environments.
  
• Monitor cloud performance, troubleshooting issues, and implement best practices.
  
• Manage access controls, RBAC, and resource policies in Azure.
  
• Leverage Microsoft Defender for Cloud (Azure Defender) to monitor security posture, detect vulnerabilities, configure security recommendations, and ensure compliance across workloads.
  
• Optimize cost and manage budgets using Azure Cost Management.
  
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  
• Write, maintain, and version Terraform modules for cloud infrastructure provisioning.
  
• Implement reusable IaC patterns for scalable environment deployments.
  
• Perform automated provisioning across environments.
  
• Drive IaC governance, documentation, and code reviews.
  
• Collaboration, Delivery & Best Practices
  
• Work closely with Developers, Cloud Architects, QA, and Operations teams for end-to-end delivery.
  
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint goals.
  
• Maintain documentation for architecture, deployments, and runbooks.
  
• Follow DevOps best practices around version control, automation, security, and governance.
  
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, reduce manual effort, and enhance reliability.
  
• Monitoring, Logging & Observability (Datadog + Azure Monitor)
  
• Configure and use Datadog dashboards, alerts, APM, and log pipelines to monitor system performance, debug logs, track host health, and troubleshoot application/infrastructure issues.
  
• Use Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to run KQL queries, analyze logs, and perform end-to-end debugging across Azure services.
  
• Leverage Application Insights (where applicable) to trace application behavior and identify performance bottlenecks.

What is the expectation of the candidate’s current role/profile?

• Qualified in B.Tech/M.Tech/BE/ME
  
• 4 years of hands-on experience in Azure cloud and DevOps.
  
• Practical experience in Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines) and Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance.
  
• Very good proficiency in building, deploying, and maintaining containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  
• Ability to automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  
• Strong working experience in Microsoft Azure
  
• Practical experience in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
  
• Good to have experience with observability tools such as Datadog and Azure Monitor/Log Analytics (KQL) for monitoring, log debugging, and troubleshooting.
  
• Good understanding of cloud security best practices and exposure to Microsoft Defender for Cloud (Azure Defender).
