KPMG's Metals & Mining (M&M) team has been running multiple assignments across locations within India, and outside. The projects include strategic business planning, business transformation, EBITDA improvement, digital enablement, diversification strategy, transaction advisory, policy advocacy, feasibility assessment, capacity development, etc. for Private sector as well as Govt/ PSU clients.

Mining Engineers

Location:

Across project locations within India, and outside.

Work mode:

Full-time onsite as well as hybrid mode (onsite + offsite) roles.

Qualification & Experience requirements

• M Tech/ ME or B.Tech/ BE in Mining Engineering; or Masters degree in Geology/ Applied Geology, or post-graduation / graduation in Mineral Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical, Chemical, etc. also may apply.
• MBA/ PGDM will be preferred
• PMP or any other recognized project management certification will be preferred
• Between 5 years to 15 years of total work experience, with reasonable experience in serving mining/ metals sector industries (as an employee) or mining/ metals sector clients (as a consultant)
• Prior experience in Mining or Metals industry segment is required. Experience in functions such as Operations, Quality management, Business excellence, Sales & Marketing, Contract & Procurement, Logistics planning/ execution, IT/ Digital, Sustainability, etc. is preferable.
• Strong communication skills, oral and written, in English.
• Solution oriented mindset and an ability to work independently on identifying solutions and building relationships to achieve project objectives.

Skills

• Microsoft Office tools (MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Word, MS Project)
• Deep understanding of mining and mineral sector

Role details

• Understand project objectives, technical landscape, and key stakeholders to influence project success effectively.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align project objectives and deliverables.
• Function as the primary point of contact for relevant stakeholders, including alliances, internal teams, and external vendors, fostering open communication, and maintaining positive relationships.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, project sponsors, and project team members.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges that may impact project success.
