Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to lead the financial operations of our construction material delivery business. In addition to managing financial records and compliance, the Senior Accountant will oversee a team of accountants, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes. The ideal candidate will provide strategic financial insights to support business growth and maintain regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the finance team, ensuring smooth day-to-day financial operations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements.
  • Supervise accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Review and approve invoices, receipts, and payment records for clients and suppliers.
  • Monitor daily transactions, including bank reconciliations and cash flow management.
  • Prepare and file GST, TDS, and other tax-related documents in compliance with local regulations.
  • Lead budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost analysis to optimize profitability.
  • Oversee payroll processing, including salary disbursement and statutory deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Provide financial reports and strategic insights to management for informed decision-making.
  • Support procurement by verifying and maintaining records of material purchases.
  • Maintain records of vehicle fuel expenses and logistics costs for delivery operations.
  • Address discrepancies and resolve financial disputes with vendors and clients.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of junior accountants.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Experience in the quarry, construction, or logistics industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and other applicable financial regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a team, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing payroll and handling statutory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a quarry or construction material business is a plus.
  • Knowledge of logistics, fuel expense tracking, and delivery cost management.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems used in construction and material supply businesses.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
