Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in various accounting disciplines, including corporate, governmental, and non-profit sectors. This role requires a deep understanding of financial reporting standards such as GAAP and IFRS, along with proficiency in financial software and regulatory compliance. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting strategic financial planning initiatives.

Duties

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Perform complex account reconciliations, including general ledger reconciliation and account analysis.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely processing and accuracy.
  • Oversee cash management activities, including forecasting and liquidity analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls, IFRS standards, GAAP guidelines, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with external audits and coordinate with auditors to facilitate audit processes.
  • Support budgeting processes by providing detailed financial analysis and forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions and ensure adherence to payroll regulations.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial management tools for daily operations.
  • Write comprehensive financial reports for internal management and external stakeholders.
  • Implement improvements in accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience across multiple sectors including public accounting, governmental accounting, or non-profit organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP, IFRS, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits.
  • Proven experience with financial concepts like budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and account reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; strong technical accounting skills required.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting standards including SOX compliance is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with excellent written communication for financial report writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our organization’s financial health through expert accounting practices and strategic insights.
