Sales and Marketing Engineer


Key Responsibilities

1. Field Sales & Customer Engagement (Primary Focus)

  • Technical Site Visits:

    Conduct frequent and planned visits across the assigned territory (approx. 50–60% travel) to meet R&D Managers, QC Engineers, Procurement Teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Hands-On Demonstrations:

    Transport, set up, and demonstrate testing equipment at customer sites and company demo centers; address technical questions confidently.
  • Consultative Selling:

    Understand customer testing needs in detail, including compliance requirements with standards such as ASTM and ISO.
  • Relationship Management:

    Build strong, long-term relationships with technical decision-makers and influencers.
  • Opportunity Management & Closure:

    Manage the complete technical sales cycle—from lead generation to negotiation and closing—while preparing and explaining complex technical quotations.

2. Marketing & Business Development

  • Market Intelligence:

    Collect and report field insights regarding competition, customer requirements, and emerging trends to support product development.
  • Technical Marketing Content:

    Create technical sales materials, application notes, presentations, and field-ready documents.
  • Events & Exhibitions:

    Represent the company at trade shows, technical workshops, and industry exhibitions at regional and national levels.

3. Solution Engineering & Documentation

  • Proposal & Tender Preparation:

    Draft accurate and commercially competitive proposals, quotations, and tender submissions covering specifications, performance guarantees, and timelines.
  • Technical Coordination:

    Serve as the communication link between the customer’s technical team and internal engineering/service teams to ensure smooth installation, commissioning, and after-sales support.


Required Qualifications

  • Education:

    Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Industrial, or related Engineering fields.
  • Experience:

    3–5 years of proven technical field sales experience, preferably in testing or laboratory equipment.
  • Field Readiness:

    Valid driver’s license, willingness to travel extensively, and experience managing a sales territory.
  • Communication Skills:

    Strong ability to deliver persuasive technical presentations and explain complex solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce, ERP systems) for territory and pipeline management.
  • Existing network within targeted industries such as manufacturing, R&D labs, educational institutes, and testing facilities.
  • Practical, hands-on familiarity with testing and laboratory instruments.
