Job Description

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a dynamic and proactive Sales Manager to manage a team of on-ground sales representatives responsible for generating leads and selling construction material. This role demands strong leadership, hands-on field sales experience, and the ability to monitor team performance, solve on-field issues, and ensure real-time data capture using Excel and digital tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management

  • Supervise and support a team of field executives assigned to different local areas
  • Drive daily and weekly activity targets – lead collection, visits, and conversions
  • Conduct periodic reviews and provide constructive feedback

Sales Guidance & Training

  • Coach team on sales techniques, product USPs, and customer handling
  • Accompany field visits to guide and improve performance
  • Identify training gaps and conduct focused skill-building sessions

Performance Monitoring

  • Maintain real-time dashboards using Excel and reporting tools
  • Track KPIs such as daily visits, lead quality, conversions, and area coverage
  • Create and maintain performance reports for internal review

Issue Resolution

  • Act as escalation point for customer or field team queries
  • Coordinate with internal departments (logistics, CRM, marketing) to resolve bottlenecks

Market Intelligence & Expansion

  • Gather on-ground insights on pricing, competition, and market behavior
  • Suggest territory-level improvements for deeper penetration

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Civil Engineering, or related fields
  • 3–6 years of experience in channel/field sales, preferably in building materials or construction
  • Prior team management or field supervision experience is a must
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel – data handling, pivot tables, and dashboards
  • Excellent communication in English and Hindi
  • Willingness to travel extensively and conduct regular market visits

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience working in Tier 2/3 cities or rural construction ecosystems
  • Exposure to construction product sales
  • Familiarity with CRM tools or mobile sales reporting apps
