Job Description

The Sales Development Manager (SDM) is responsible for driving sales growth by developing new business opportunities, managing distributor and retail relationships, ensuring execution of sales strategies, and optimizing field operations. The SDM will focus on expanding market reach, increasing product visibility, and supporting the sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and onboard new distributors, retailers, and stockiest in assigned territory.
  • Develop and implement regional sales strategies to increase product penetration and volume.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets and KPIs set by the management.

Market Expansion

  • Conduct market mapping to identify untapped areas and drive market expansion initiatives.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams.
  • Monitor distributor performance, sales pipeline, stock levels, and order processing.
  • Ensure timely collection of payments and adherence to credit policies.
  • Provide support to distributors and resolve their issues to maintain long-term business relationships.

Team Coordination & Training

  • Supervise and guide Sales Officers, Executives, Field Sales team.
  • Train team on product knowledge, market trends, and effective selling techniques.
  • Monitor and review field performance regularly and ensure productivity.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze sales data, competitor activities, and market trends to provide actionable insights.
  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales performance, market feedback, and field updates.
  • Track ROI of promotional activities and suggest improvements.

6. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with key retailers and modern trade partners.
  • Address customer grievances promptly and professionally.

  • Leadership and team management capabilities
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in MS Excel & CRM tools
  • Deep understanding of FMCG distribution and retail network
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field .
  • 2-3 years of sales experience in FMCG or similar sector
  • Experience in handling distributors and managing sales territory

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
