Job Title: Retail Planner

About the Role:
We are looking for a sharp, data-driven Retail Planner to build and manage our sales, inventory, and allocation strategies across all stores. This role sits at the core of our retail engine—ensuring the right product reaches the right store at the right time. The ideal candidate comes with solid experience in fashion retail, and understands the nuances of fast-moving assortments, regional product performance, and inventory efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Inventory Planning
Develop monthly, quarterly, and seasonal sales plans at category/store level.
Track weekly sales, stock health, and sell-through; highlight risks and opportunities proactively.
Create and manage the OTB (Open-to-Buy) plan in alignment with buying timelines.
Support product lifecycle planning including launch, replenishment, consolidation, and markdown strategies.
2. Allocation & Replenishment
Allocate merchandise for new launches, ensuring optimal depth and width for each store.
Drive timely replenishment based on sales velocity and store needs.
Build tailored assortments for each region/store based on local customer behaviour and category trends.
3. Demand Forecasting
Forecast demand using past data, seasonality, and current trends.
Identify best sellers early and push inventory to maximize revenue.
Flag slow movers and recommend action plans to improve stock efficiency.
4. Reporting & Analytics
Publish weekly, monthly, and seasonal MIS reports.
Analyse sell-through, ageing, stock cover, and category-wise performance.
Provide insights to support buying, retail operations, and marketing decisions.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with retail operations, buying, warehouse, and marketing teams.
Support business planning for promotions, events, and new store openings.
Partner with the COO/Retail Head on strategic planning initiatives.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with retail planning tools is a plus.
High attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Business understanding of store KPIs, category performance, and inventory efficiency.
Ability to work in a fast-paced luxury retail environment.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Management, Merchandising, or similar field.
2–4 years of experience specifically in fashion retail planning, merchandising, or allocation.
Experience in jewellery, accessories, or premium/luxury fashion brands is highly preferred.
