Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Mumbai for a Research Engineer. The Research engineer is responsible for designing, testing, characterizing, and optimizing electrical aspects of photovoltaic devices and modules. The role focuses on performance modeling, measurement systems, power electronics interfaces, test development, reliability assessment, and electrical design improvements that enhance efficiency, durability, and manufacturability of solar cells and modules.

Role-

• Conduct IV measurements Perform Suns-Voc, EL/PL imaging, EQE, series/shunt resistance extraction.
• Analyze power loss mechanisms, contact resistance, recombination pathways, mismatch losses.
• Develop automated test scripts and data acquisition workflows.
• Design module interconnection schemes (busbars, ribbons, cell layout, bypass diodes).
• Evaluate electrical mismatch, shading behavior, and thermal response.
• Work with cell/process engineers to optimize cell and module performance

Qualifications

• BTech/ Master in Science in Physics/ Electrical/ Electronics with Strong knowledge of semiconductor physics and PV device fundamentals.
• Minimum 1 year Experience preferably in solar cell technologies or renewable energy

Additional Skills

• Experience with EL/PL imaging and degradation analysis.
• Familiarity with reliability testing standards and environmental stress testing.
• Strong analytical and electrical circuit skills,
• Programing (Matlab, Phython), Labview, Optical/ electrical Instrumentations, CDA tool, exposure to solar PV, Electrical and optical Simulation and modeling
• Experience in designing or modifying electrical test benches, Test automation and data acquisition, knowledge of power electronics, reliability testing
