Position Overview:
The Regional Security Manager is responsible for leading the security function within the region, implementing security protocols to ensure the protection of all shipments and Blue Dart facilities. This role involves developing strategic security policies, monitoring operational performance, and managing security budgets to mitigate risks. Additionally, the Regional Security Manager provides guidance to the security team, conducts audits, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements to maintain a secure operational environment.

Job Purpose:
To oversee the implementation of security protocols to protect shipments and facilities within the region. This role focuses on developing strategic security policies, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance to mitigate risks effectively.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic Security Management:
  • Collaborate with the Head of Security to formulate and implement the regional security strategy.
  • Develop and update security policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for effective security management.
Operational Oversight:
  • Ensure the physical security of all shipments and Blue Dart facilities in the region by monitoring compliance with security protocols.
  • Drive adherence to operational costs related to security measures and track expenses against the approved budget.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities, recommending mitigation strategies to the Head of Security.
  • Oversee the implementation of security measures for high-value shipments, including monitoring shipments in transit and conducting pre-alerts.
Performance Monitoring:
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to shipment security, including the number of damaged or pilfered shipments and the closure rate of security-related cases.
  • Conduct periodic audits of security practices, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Provide direction, guidance, and support to the security team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and build a strong succession pipeline for key security roles.
Training and Awareness:
  • Coordinate and conduct security orientation and training programs for employees to ensure awareness of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Organize safety drills and audits to prepare staff for emergency situations and ensure readiness.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
  • Maintain relationships with regional regulatory bodies and security vendors, ensuring compliance with security standards and effective service delivery.
  • Evaluate and manage contracts with security service providers to ensure alignment with organizational needs.
Reporting and Communication:
  • Prepare and present regular reports on security performance, incidents, and compliance to the Regional Operations Head and senior management.
  • Ensure timely communication of any security breaches or incidents to the corporate team for appropriate action.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Preferred: A master’s degree in any discipline.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in security management, risk management, or operations, with at least 2-4 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing security policies and procedures within a logistics, transportation, or corporate environment.
  • Strong background in managing security operations, including audits, compliance, and incident response.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies for security threats.
Skills & Capabilities
Core Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in security management principles and practices, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards related to security and safety.
  • Experience with security technology solutions, such as surveillance systems and access control.
  • Strong analytical skills for monitoring security metrics and incident reporting.
