What You’ll Do


1. Own Global Talent Sourcing

  • Identify and engage exceptional talent worldwide, including engineers, founders, researchers, operators, and other high-impact professionals.
  • Build and run targeted outbound campaigns for profiles such as AI researchers, startup founders, senior engineers, and operators from high-growth companies.
  • Maintain a structured, high-quality pipeline for OpenVenture programs.


2. Run a World-Class Talent Process

  • Conduct initial screens to understand candidates’ skills, track record, ambitions, and potential immigration pathways.
  • Evaluate candidates for long-term U.S. impact, not just immediate fit.
  • Guide candidates from discovery and assessment through immigration consultation and placement.


3. Partner With Immigration and Program Teams

  • Translate complex immigration realities into clear expectations for candidates.
  • Share market insights with program and leadership teams to help refine OpenVenture offerings.


4. Build and Nurture Talent Communities

  • Maintain warm relationships with high-potential candidates, even when timing is not immediate.
  • Represent OpenVenture across founder communities, global talent groups, and high-impact professional networks.

  • An exceptional communicator who writes clear, compelling outreach and leads thoughtful conversations across cultures.
  • Structured, organized, and detail-oriented, ensuring no strong candidate falls through the cracks.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and skilled at navigating complex, real-world scenarios such as immigration.
  • Globally fluent and comfortable working across cultures and time zones. Occasional international travel (<10%) is optional.


Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience in recruiting, talent sourcing, headhunting, or talent acquisition, ideally with strong outbound experience.
  • Demonstrated success filling hard-to-hire roles or sourcing hard-to-reach talent, such as founders, researchers, senior engineers, or operators.
  • Experience working with international candidates or distributed teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and comfort with async, writing-heavy workflows.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving startup environment with high ownership.


Nice to Have

  • Experience with immigration-related recruiting, global mobility, or relocation.
  • Familiarity with U.S. visa categories or the ability to learn them quickly.
  • Experience recruiting for high-growth startups, technology companies, or research organizations.

  • You have built a repeatable outbound engine for exceptional global talent.
  • OpenVenture has a strong, high-signal pipeline of vetted candidates ready for our programs.
  • Candidates describe the OpenVenture process as clear, human, and inspiring.
  • You have helped dozens of high-potential individuals begin or continue their journey to the United States, demonstrating how structured, ethical talent immigration strengthens the country.
