RAWMILL - MECHANICAL

Purpose/Objective

The Section Head - Crusher & Raw Mill (Mechanical) is responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating maintenance activities for Crusher and Raw Mill equipment. This role focuses on maximizing equipment availability, improving productivity, and reducing operational costs through effective maintenance practices, including preventive and predictive maintenance. The position also ensures strict adherence to safety and environmental compliance standards while driving continuous improvement and team development.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Crusher & Raw Mill Maintenance Management: Plan, supervise, and coordinate all maintenance activities related to Crushers and Raw Mills, ensuring high equipment availability and operational efficiency. Execute improvement and modification projects to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs, focusing on critical equipment like crushers, raw mills, and associated systems. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Implement and oversee preventive maintenance routines for Crusher and Raw Mill equipment, ensuring timely and effective execution to prevent equipment failures. Utilize predictive maintenance tools and techniques, such as vibration analysis and oil analysis, to anticipate and address potential equipment issues. Equipment Reliability & Performance: Monitor and manage the reliability of Crusher and Raw Mill equipment, aiming to achieve high performance and maintaining the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) within company standards. Work towards maintaining the Net Availability Index (NAI) of Crushers and Raw Mills, focusing on minimizing downtime and optimizing equipment performance. Shutdown & Overhaul Management: Plan and manage major and minor shutdowns for Crushers and Raw Mills, ensuring efficient execution and alignment with production schedules. Oversee critical tasks during shutdowns, such as the replacement of liners, inspection of crushers, and maintenance of raw mill systems, to ensure long-term equipment reliability. Safety & Environmental Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols during maintenance activities, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to the work permit system. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, aiming to minimize emissions and maintain a pollution-free operational environment. Spare Parts & Inventory Management: Oversee the management of spare parts inventory for Crushers and Raw Mills, ensuring the availability of critical components while optimizing inventory levels to reduce costs. Coordinate with the Preventive Maintenance Planner to align spare parts inventory with maintenance schedules and emergency repair needs. Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in Crusher and Raw Mill maintenance practices, focusing on enhancing equipment performance and reducing operational costs. Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and opportunities for process optimization, leading efforts to implement innovative solutions and best practices. Team Leadership & Development: Provide leadership and guidance to the Crusher and Raw Mill maintenance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Develop and implement training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of team members, ensuring alignment with industry standards and company objectives. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including daily inspections, preventive maintenance tasks, and shutdown reports. Prepare and present reports on Crusher and Raw Mill maintenance performance, including equipment reliability, safety compliance, and inventory management. Internal Control & Transparency: Implement and monitor internal control systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and transparency in daily operations Regularly assess and identify potential risks within the organization, recommending and implementing control measures to enhance transparency Key Stakeholders - Internal: Maintenance Engineer - Crusher & Raw Mill Preventive Maintenance Mechanical Planner Production Team Key Stakeholders - External: Vendors and Suppliers

Qualifications and Experience

Education Qualification: BE in Mechanical Engineering. Work Experience: 10+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, specifically in Crushers and Raw Mills within the cement or heavy manufacturing industry. Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of Crusher and Raw Mill operations, preventive and predictive maintenance techniques, and shutdown management, with a focus on equipment reliability and cost optimization.
