Job Summary
The Radiology Center Manager is responsible for the overall operations, administration, and profitability of the radiology center. This role ensures smooth day-to-day functioning, compliance with regulatory standards, optimal utilization of equipment, patient satisfaction, and coordination between doctors, technicians, and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Administration
- Oversee daily operations of radiology services (X-ray, USG, CT, MRI, Mammography, etc.)
- Ensure efficient patient flow, appointment scheduling, and minimal waiting time
- Monitor service quality, turnaround time (TAT), and report delivery
- Maintain SOPs for all radiology procedures
2. Staff Management
- Supervise radiologists, technicians, front-desk, billing, and support staff
- Prepare duty rosters and ensure optimal manpower utilization
- Conduct training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when required
- Foster a professional and patient-friendly work culture
3. Equipment & Asset Management
- Ensure proper usage, maintenance, calibration, and AMC of radiology equipment
- Coordinate with vendors for servicing and breakdown resolution
- Plan equipment upgrades and capacity expansion
4. Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (PCPNDT, AERB, NABL, radiation safety norms, etc.)
- Maintain documentation, records, audits, and inspections
- Implement infection control and safety protocols
5. Financial & Business Management
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability of the center
- Oversee billing, collections, discounts, and insurance/TPA coordination
- Control operational costs and prevent revenue leakage
- Prepare monthly MIS and performance reports
6. Marketing & Business Development
- Build relationships with referring doctors, hospitals, and clinics
- Implement local marketing initiatives and referral programs
- Improve patient retention and brand reputation of the center
7. Patient Experience
- Ensure high levels of patient satisfaction and grievance redressal
- Handle escalations related to service quality, billing, or reports
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or relevant field
- MBA / MHA preferred
- 3–7 years of experience in managing a radiology/diagnostic center or hospital department
- Strong understanding of radiology operations and compliance norms
