Job Description: Quality Head (Stone / Furniture Industry)Position Overview

The Quality Head oversees all quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) activities across production, materials, processes, and finished products in the stone or furniture manufacturing environment. The role ensures that products meet industry standards, customer specifications, and company quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities1. Quality Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement the company’s quality management system (QMS).
• Lead the QC/QA team across cutting, polishing, fabrication, assembly, and finishing stations.
• Set quality KPIs, SOPs, inspection standards, and audit schedules.

2. Material Quality Control

• Approve and inspect stone slabs, timber, hardware, adhesives, fabrics, etc.
• Work with procurement to ensure raw material vendors meet quality requirements.

3. Process Quality Management

• Oversee in-process inspections (size accuracy, color consistency, finish quality).
• Implement root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for defects.
• Reduce rework, breakage, and wastage rates.

4. Final Product Quality

• Ensure finished products meet customer specifications and durability standards.
• Approve product release and ensure proper documentation before dispatch.

5. Compliance & Standards

• Enforce compliance with ISO standards, safety norms, and industry regulations.
• Maintain calibration and accuracy of measuring instruments.

6. Customer & Vendor Interaction

• Address customer complaints and develop corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
• Conduct vendor evaluations and quality audits.

7. Team Management

• Train supervisors and technicians on quality procedures.
• Build a culture of continuous improvement (Lean, Kaizen, 5S).

Key Skills & QualificationsSkills

• Strong knowledge of stone grading, polishing, fabrication OR furniture carpentry, finishing, upholstery.
• Expertise in QC tools: 7QC, RCA, FMEA, SPC, CAPA.
• Ability to read technical drawings & specifications.
• Leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Production, or Material Science, or related field.
• 7–12+ years experience in stone, modular furniture, solid wood, or similar manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 (preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
