The Cut-to-Length (CTL) Operator is responsible for operating machinery to accurately cut steel coils into specified lengths as per customer requirements in a steel service center setting. It is your duty to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the equipment, maintain quality standards, and achieve production targets. Your responsibilities will include operating CTL machinery to cut steel coils precisely, adjusting machine settings for desired outcomes, monitoring machinery during operation, inspecting raw materials and finished products for defects, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, following safety protocols, coordinating with team members, recording production data accurately, and maintaining a clean work area. To qualify for this position, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent education, with technical or vocational training in machine operation preferred. Prior experience operating CTL machinery or similar equipment in a manufacturing or steel service center environment is required. You should possess a strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of steel products and specifications, ability to read job orders and technical drawings, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and commitment to safety.
