1. Quality Planning & Implementation

• Develop and enforce QC procedures, inspection plans, and work instructions.
• Ensure implementation of quality standards like ISO 9001, ASME, and IBR guidelines.
• Plan and schedule stage inspections and final inspections for IBR-certified products.

2. Incoming Material Inspection & Traceability

• Inspect raw materials, plates, pipes, flanges, and bought-out items as per MTC and IBR Form III.
• Maintain traceability of materials as per IBR requirements.
• Approve or reject incoming materials.

3. In-Process & Welding Inspection

• Monitor fabrication processes: cutting, forming, fit-up, welding, heat treatment, etc.
• Perform stage-wise inspection: root pass, final pass, dimensional checks, visual inspections.
• Ensure use of qualified welders and approved WPS / PQR (Procedure Qualification Record).

4. IBR Inspection Coordination

• Coordinate with IBR Authorized Inspecting Authority (AIA).
• Arrange stage-wise inspections and hydrostatic tests.
• Prepare and submit required documents: Form III, welding records, NDT reports.

5. NDT & Final Inspection

• Plan and conduct Non-Destructive Testing (UT, RT, DPI, MPI) as per customer and IBR requirements.
• Perform final dimensional checks and visual inspection of fabricated items.
• Prepare final inspection reports and release notes.

6. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain comprehensive QC documentation: inspection reports, test certificates, IBR forms.
• Ensure timely submission of documents to customer and IBR authority.
• Maintain calibration records of inspection equipment.

7. Team Management

• Lead QC inspectors and NDT technicians.
• Train team members on IBR compliance, welding quality, defect identification, and prevention.

8. Customer & Third-Party Interaction

• Coordinate with customers, third-party inspectors, and IBR authorities.
• Resolve customer quality complaints and provide technical clarification.

9. Continuous Improvement

• Conduct root cause analysis for defects and NCRs.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions to enhance product quality.
• Strong understanding of heavy fabrication processes, IBR regulations, welding procedures (WPS/PQR), and NDT methods.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex fabrication drawings and IBR codes.

• Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in heavy fabrication QC with specific exposure to IBR inspection.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Mumbai for a Quality Assurance Quality Control Engineer. The Engineer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring quality control and assurance standards, conducting quality audits, managing quality documentation, and performing inspections. Daily tasks include overseeing production processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, identifying and rectifying quality issues, and continuous improvement of quality management systems.
