About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic QA professional with hands-on expertise in special processes for 2-wheeler manufacturing and commercial vehicle components. The role involves end-to-end quality assurance in painting, powder coating, and plating processes, including vendor audits and lab testing.

The manager will report to the Divisional Manager (QA) and interact with internal teams (Styling, Engineering, PPC, Materials) as well as external vendors to ensure process compliance, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead QA activities for paint, powder coating, and plating processes for components like fuel tanks, ABS plastic parts, silencers, and engine/vehicle parts.
• Conduct vendor audits, communicate non-conformances, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Operate and maintain paint & plating lab equipment, including:
• Colour measurement tools
• Salt spray, humidity, and CASS testing equipment
• Impact, abrasion, flexibility testers, XRF meter, dust counters, etc.
• Identify defects in painting, powder coating, plating, and decal application processes and drive root-cause analysis.
• Implement and monitor PFMEA/DFMEA, FTA, and other problem-solving methodologies (7 QC tools).
• Support TPM, QMS, and SHEMS implementation in the shop floor.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for new model trials, engineering changes, and process improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical:

• Strong knowledge of advanced paint, plating, and powder coating processes.
• Awareness of paint/plating lab testing equipment and colour shade measurement.
• Basic understanding of fabrication and polymer components is an advantage.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings.

Functional / IT:

• Proficiency in SAP, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Behavioral:

• Strong communication, presentation, planning, and leadership skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on quality, problem-solving, and process improvement.

  Domestic, monthly (for vendor audits).
