Overview:

A quality analyst in the food industry with over 5 years of experience—especially from a food technology background and deep knowledge of quality checks, regulatory compliance, BRCGS, and HACCP—plays a critical role in safeguarding food safety and standards.

Job Description

Responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving food safety and quality assurance systems in alignment with BRCGS and HACCP standards. The role heavily emphasizes regulatory compliance, quality inspections, internal auditing, corrective actions, and training of staff, ensuring the organization meets or exceeds all required standards and maintains certification status.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections, sensory evaluations, and laboratory analyses of raw materials, in-process, and finished products to guarantee quality and safety.

• Oversee and manage the implementation of BRCGS and HACCP protocols, including periodic internal audits and risk assessments.

• Review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production, inspections, and corrective actions.

• Ensure regulatory compliance with national and international food safety standards and client-specific requirements.

• Document and report non-conformities, lead root cause analysis, and enforce corrective/preventive action plans for continuous improvement.

• Maintain detailed and accurate records for traceability required by regulatory bodies and BRCGS.

• Train and mentor production and QA staff on current quality and food safety standards, audit preparedness, and updated regulations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues swiftly and maintain compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.

• At least 5 years relevant experience in food safety or quality assurance within the food industry.

• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with BRCGS and HACCP systems and requirements.

• Strong understanding of food safety regulations, laboratory procedures, and audit processes.

• Proficiency in analytical skills, corrective action coordination, and quality management system software.

• Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills for both technical and cross-functional collaborations.

• Experience in staff training related to food quality, BRCGS, or HACCP.

This role is central to risk management, upholding food safety, regulatory conformity, and ongoing improvements that protect consumers and maintain the organization’s reputation.
