Urgent hiring || Purchase Engineer || Mumbai


Profile- Purchase Engineer

Experience- Min 1 Years

Ctc- upto 3.6 LPA (Depends on interview)

Location- Vasai east, Mumbai

Working Days:- 6 Days


Job Summary:

The Purchase Engineer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and services required for manufacturing and project activities. The role ensures timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining vendor relationships and compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Sourcing

  • Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers for raw materials, components, fabrication items, and mechanical/electrical parts.
  • Request and compare quotations, prepare comparative statements, and finalize purchase orders.
  • Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
  • Ensure timely procurement to avoid production delays.

Vendor Management

  • Develop and maintain vendor databases.
  • Conduct vendor evaluations based on quality, delivery, and pricing performance.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for on-time delivery and resolve discrepancies.

Technical Coordination

  • Work closely with the engineering and production teams to understand material and equipment specifications.
  • Ensure materials meet technical and quality standards.
  • Verify technical drawings and BOMs (Bill of Materials) before procurement.

Inventory & Documentation

  • Coordinate with stores to monitor stock levels and plan reorders.
  • Maintain purchase records, supplier invoices, and other documentation as per company policy.
  • Follow ISO and internal audit requirements related to procurement.

Cost Control & Compliance

  • Assist in developing cost-saving strategies and vendor-based cost reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure all purchases comply with company procurement policies.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with accounts for supplier payments and GRN follow-up.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly procurement status reports.
  • Support project teams with material tracking and delivery schedules.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience: 1–4 years (preferably in fabrication, process equipment, or chemical plant manufacturing industry).

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical components, fabrication materials, and industrial procurement.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and ERP software.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience in handling procurement of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, or process equipment.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and material specifications (SS, MS, alloys).
  • Awareness of safety and quality standards in chemical equipment manufacturing.
