Purchase Manager

Job Description: Purchase Executive

Location: Jaipur

Department: Procurement & Supply Chain

Industry: Elevators, Sheet Metal Fabrication, Laser Cutting & Bending

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Sourcing

• Identify and purchase raw materials such as MS/SS sheets, hardware, electrical components, fasteners, welding materials, packaging, etc.

• Request and compare quotations from vendors.

• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms.

• Raise and follow up on Purchase Orders (POs).

2. Vendor Development & Management

• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new reliable vendors.

• Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.

• Resolve issues related to delayed deliveries, faulty material, or shortage.

3. Inventory & Stock Coordination

• Coordinate with store, design, production, and planning teams to understand material demands.

• Maintain optimum stock levels to avoid production delays.

• Ensure timely inward material checking and documentation (GRN, challan, invoice entry).

4. Cost & Budget Control

• Track market rates of metal, hardware, and electrical goods.

• Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality.

• Prevent over-buying and material wastage.

5. Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare and maintain accurate POs, quotations, vendor data, bills, and delivery records.
• Ensure all purchases follow taxation norms (GST), specifications, and company standards.
• Support audit requirements with proper documentation.

6. Cross-Department Coordination

• Coordinate daily with stores, production, design, and finance departments.

• Provide timely updates on material status, delivery issues, and critical shortages.

• Work closely with fabrication and installation teams for urgent requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

• Graduate (B.Com / BBA / B.Tech preferred)

• Diploma in Material Management/SCM is a plus.

Experience

• 2–7 years in manufacturing/engineering/elevator/fabrication industry preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• Understanding of raw materials (MS/SS sheets, hardware, electrical items)

• Knowledge of fabrication processes (laser, bending, welding) is an advantage

• MS Excel, Email communication, and ERP knowledge

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
