Role Overview

Purchase Manager/Director

This role requires a strategic thinker with strong operational depth, capable of managing multiple product categories, supplier relationships, and large-scale manufacturing orders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor Development & Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new factories, suppliers, and vendors across categories (apparel, bags, accessories, etc.).
  • Build and maintain long-term supplier relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Procurement Planning

  • Develop purchase plans based on sales data, live stock reports, and future demand projections.
  • Align purchase cycles with warehouse capacity and production lead times.
  • Negotiation & Cost Management

  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with factories to achieve optimal cost savings.
  • Continuously benchmark supplier pricing and monitor market trends to maintain competitiveness.
  • Production Coordination

  • Coordinate with category managers and merchandisers to finalize product specifications, fabrics, trims, and packaging before production.
  • Oversee sampling, approvals, and production timelines to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all purchased goods meet Factori’s quality standards and compliance norms.
  • Collaborate with QA and logistics teams for inspection and dispatch.
  • Process Optimization

  • Develop and implement SOPs for procurement and supplier evaluation.
  • Use data and technology (ERP / Live Stock Board) to monitor supplier performance and streamline operations.
  • Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a growing procurement team handling different product categories.
  • Build capabilities for category-wise purchasing and vendor management.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in

    Supply Chain, Business Administration, Textile Technology, or related fields

    .
  • 8–15 years

    of experience in procurement, vendor management, or sourcing — preferably in

    apparel, bags, accessories, or consumer goods

    .
  • Strong

    factory network

    and understanding of end-to-end

    manufacturing processes

    (from yarn/fabric sourcing to final packaging).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in

    cost optimization

    ,

    inventory planning

    , and

    supplier performance management

    .
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with category, merchandising, warehouse, and logistics teams.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using ERP, dashboards, and procurement management tools.
