Role Overview

Purchase Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Source and procure raw materials such as PVC, HDPE, additives, and other inputs required for polymer pipe production.
• Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible price, quality, and credit terms.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials to meet production schedules without disruptions.
• Monitor inventory levels, forecast requirements, and maintain optimal stock levels.
• Develop and maintain a strong supplier database; evaluate vendors on parameters like quality, pricing, reliability, and compliance.
• Establish long-term relationships with vendors while ensuring adherence to company standards.
• Regularly analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply risks.
• Coordinate closely with the production, quality, and finance departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and statutory norms related to procurement and vendor management.
• Prepare MIS reports and dashboards for management review on procurement costs, savings, and vendor performance.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality standards.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of

  polymer raw materials and pipe manufacturing industry.

• Proven experience in

  procurement, vendor development, and supply chain management.

• Excellent

  negotiation and communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Proficiency in

  ERP systems / MS Office

  for purchase tracking and reporting.
• Ability to work under pressure with a proactive and result-oriented approach.
• Strong leadership qualities and team management skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate in

  Commerce/Engineering/Polymer Science/Materials Management

  (MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain/Operations preferred).
• Minimum

  5–7 years of experience

  in procurement/purchase function, preferably in the polymer or plastic pipe industry.
• Proven track record of vendor management and cost optimization in manufacturing sector.

Compensation

• Salary:

  Up to ₹6,00,000 per annum

  (Based on experience & qualifications).
