Purchase & Import Executive

Role & responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders and manage continuous coordination with international suppliers across

  Europe, USA, China, Indonesia and South America

  to ensure shipment readiness, documentation accuracy, and on-time delivery.
• Manage end-to-end import operations from shipment booking to final delivery at warehouse/plant
• Liaise extensively with clearing & forwarding agents(CHA), customs officials, ports, ICDs, shipping lines, and freight forwarders
• Track vessel schedules, arrival notices, clearance status, and delivery milestones on a daily basis
• Resolve customs queries, document mismatches, and clearance delays with urgency
• Prepare, verify, and coordinate all import documentation including:
• Ensure correct HS code classification, duty structure, valuation, and compliance
• Maintain well-structured documentation
• Relentlessly follow up with international suppliers for shipment readiness, packing, labelling, and document accuracy
• Coordinate closely with shipping lines and forwarders for rollovers, schedule changes, and amendments
• Escalate delays early and drive resolution through persistent follow-ups

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors with preference for Logistics or Supply Chain
• 2-6 years of import-heavy experience in chemicals, specialty chemicals, or pharma
• Hands-on experience dealing with CHA, customs, ports, and shipping lines
• Extremely organized, detail-obsessed, and disciplined in follow-ups
• Excellent coordination skills with external agencies
• Proficient in Excel and basic ERP / accounting systems
• Clear communication, ownership mindset, and execution focus
• Capability to multitask in a fast faced environment.
