Job Title: Purchase Engineer – Fire Fighting & MEP Systems Location: Pune (On-site) Experience: 2–4 years in procurement, preferably in fire safety, ELV, or MEP systems Education: Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering Certification in procurement/supply chain management is a plus Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Engineer with hands-on experience in sourcing materials and components for firefighting systems , ELV, and MEP installations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for vendor coordination, cost negotiation, purchase planning, and timely procurement to ensure seamless execution of infrastructure and building services projects. Key Responsibilities: 1. Procurement Planning & Execution Identify, evaluate, and procure materials and equipment related to fire safety systems (e.g., fire pumps, sprinklers, hydrants, suppression systems, valves, pipes, fittings). Handle procurement for related MEP/ELV components such as BMS, IBMS, WLD, fire alarm panels, detectors, conduits, and accessories. Prepare purchase orders based on project BOQs and technical specifications. 2. Vendor Development & Management Identify and qualify reliable vendors and suppliers for fire safety, ELV, and MEP items. Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and negotiate favorable terms. Evaluate vendor performance in terms of quality, delivery, and compliance. 3. Cost Control & Negotiation Obtain competitive quotations, perform rate analysis, and ensure cost-effective procurement. Coordinate with the estimation and project teams to align costs with budgets. Assist in resolving price disputes, delivery issues, and supply chain delays. 4. Material Tracking & Delivery Coordination Track and monitor the delivery status of ordered items to ensure timely availability at project sites. Liaise with logistics partners and store teams for material inward and verification. Ensure proper documentation including GRNs, inspection reports, and delivery notes. 5. Compliance & Documentation Maintain records of purchase orders, vendor quotes, comparative statements, and invoices. Ensure materials comply with industry standards, project specifications, and fire safety regulations. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of fire protection systems and relevant equipment (e.g., UL/FM-listed materials, pumps, valves, sprinklers, alarm systems) Familiarity with MEP and ELV procurement processes Good negotiation and vendor management skills Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems (e.g., Tally, SAP, Zoho, etc.) Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask and work in a deadline-driven environment Show more Show less
